 About The Position

The Paraplanner is one of four core members of each advising team. This position offers training and significant advancement opportunities. The career path is flexible, shaped by skills, aptitudes, passions, and desires. Career path opportunities range from advancement within advising teams or a move towards an operations specialty.

The Paraplanner is instrumental in implementing and overseeing many daily activities that provide value to clients. These activities include a blend of external and internal responsibilities, actively engaged with the populations we serve, and working closely with the advising operations teams.

This role is partially remote split between Abundance Wealth Advisors and CUI Wealth Management. The opportunity to work fully remote is also available for candidates located away from our office locations or if the Paraplanner prefers to be following initial training.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (or relevant financial services experience)
  • FINRA Series 6/7 & 63 or 65/66
  • Consumer-facing experience and work in a professional environment are a plus
  • Experience working across multiple systems and software programs

 *All candidates must complete financial industry screening requirements before a formal employment offer can be extended, including a background check and fingerprints.

Core Responsibilities

Advisor support in servicing clients and onboarding prospective new clients

  • Attend and participate in meetings with existing clients and potential future clients
  • Follow up on client conversations and deliver phenomenal service
  • Assist in the development of plans that deliver maximum impact in the lives of our individual and business clients
  • Work with the operations team to prepare for client meetings
  • Oversee the running and analyzing of diagnostic reports
  • Manage the request for proposal (RFP) process
  • Support clients through retirement plan conversions


Client relationship management, communication, and support

  • Develop genuine relationships with clients and a deep understanding of their needs while representing the firms well
  • Provide front-line support by answering inbound client requests via phone and email, redirecting to other staff when appropriate
  • Proactively contact clients to schedule appointments, follow up on action items, and as part of broader campaigns
  • Support the operations team in the completion and processing of paperwork
  • Develop outbound communication, obtain compliance approval, and distribute digital and print communications
  • Work with Operations to organize and maintain governing records for company-sponsored retirement plan clients

Client/Participant Education

  • Develop and assist in executing client financial wellness/education presentations
  • Contribute to the company's blog
  • Assist with Fiduciary Education Meetings

Starting base salary is $50,000-$60,000, depending on skills and experience.
